Food was my first love and it is still one of my passions. I have worked as chef on and off for 15 years, in various roles from pubs and restaurants in England to private chalet and hotel catering during winter seasons in Switzerland, France and Canada. I have also completed a short fine dining course at Ashburton Cookery School. Although I have fine dining experience my real passion is creating dishes that can be made in most people’s kitchens – quality home cooking using fresh, seasonal and local ingredients where possible.
As I undertake the next stage of my career with East Devon Nutrition, I am enjoying creating dishes with a focus on healthy eating that do not compromise on aesthetics and taste. I still like to enjoy the finer things in life – a rich, calorie fuelled meal and a fine wine, and that is never going to change! For me the key is balance.
